Pre-Winter Urban Session – November 27

This weekend Shark Snowboarding will sponsor a nice pre-winter urban snowboarding session. It all starts on Saturday November 27 at Noordstraat 5 Walsoorden, The Netherlands. We start around 13:00 and end around 18:00. If we can manage to find some light we will of course shred some more.

There will be a nice 7,5 meter long rail and a 5 meter tube. Costs to enter are 10 euro and you get some freshly deliverd snow for that and a good atmosphere. Just some good outdoor shreddin as preparation for the winter season. Places are limited, around 25 people maximum. See the facebook event page for more stuff!

Shark Snowboarding will be present to photograph the whole event. So see you there!

686 Best Trick Contest

Shark Snowboarding and 686 are organizing a best trick contest where you can win a brand new 686 PLEXUS SURGE Jacket Black (retail value 170 euro). You can enter the competition as long as the price can be send to a Dutch or Belgium address.

How to enter?

We want to see your best trick on video! But it has to be taped in the coming two weeks. To make sure that that is the case it has to be a one shot video (no editing) where you can see the trick and where you tell in the video that this trick is for the “686 Shark Snowboarding best trick contest”.

So keep in mind; no edit with adding the announcement, it has to be one shot. And you can say the announcement before or after you’ve done the trick, just as long as it is in the same shot. Pretty simple he? And yes, you may add other fun stuff like logo’s, intros, credits, whatever.

When you’ve uploaded this on your favorite video sharing website, put the link in the comment section below this article.

Make sure you send in your video before midnight on Sunday November 28.

How will the winner be picked?

Everybody gets a change to vote for their favorite video! Most votes win! Simple as that. Voting for the video will start on November 29 and will end on December 4. We will announce the winner on December 5, Sinterklaas day, nice day to receive a prize!

A Month ago it was time for the Frontline Railjam 2010 edition in Stockholm, Sweden. And while several video’s have hit the Internet, the official video just came out.

Full Movie – Shotgun!

In search of some online full-length snowboarding movies I found this one. ‘Shotgun!’ is a all-female snowboarding movie from Finland from the year 2008.

A tight group of ten girls calling their selves “Hotgirls 89″ decided to make this movie and started filming during spring 2007, which lasted the whole 2007/2008 season.

Back Again – Ultimate Snowboarding

The biggest Snowboarding community of the Netherlands and Belgium is back again. Ultimate Snowboarding was offline for a few months, but now that the brand is sold from Ripstar to Surfholland, the website is back and better then ever.

All old member info is still there and they added tons of new functionality that brings US to the new internet age. Facebook and Twitter integrations, forums, event overview, etc. And it promises to be big again, with already 180 guests on the forum online at the moment. So congrats to the new team and spread the word.

Roxy Refreshments Episode 1 of 8: Helsinki, Finland

Roxy is bringing out 8 episodes of fresh girl snowboarding called the Roxy Refreshments. First episode is taking Roxy teamrider Erin Comstock to Helsinki, Finland to start her season.

If you have seen some new board films that came out in the last month, you will recognize some of the places you see in the video. Gnarly girl! Watch out for part 2 in the series.

Shaped Railjam @ Ice Mountain – 20 November

On Saturday 20th November it’s time for the Shaped Railjam at Ice Mountain in Belgium. Shaped Snowboarding is doing a tour in the Netherlands and Belgium to promote themselves and just have some fun with all the boarders. Together with Haystack and Ice Mountain they organize a rail jam on this day.

You can test all kinds of Shaped Snowboarding products from 14:00 hours on. Around 19:30 inscription for the jam which will cost 25 euro’s. At 20:00 hours the platform opens for practice.

The platform will consist of three modules as you can see on the attached picture. Sounds and looks like this will be an event you can’t miss! Promising setup, good organization and fun atmosphere. See you there!

Snowboarding Style

You can do the sickest tricks but if you don’t have style you have nothing. Style is one of those things that is hard to explain and you just have to see.

The TTR has released several video’s about this subject and they try to explain style and how style is judged. Also THE style trick, the Method, is being discussed and viewed.

Nice 3-part video series about the subject. Must watch!

Video: Xtreme Xperience 2010

The Xtreme Xperience event took place on October 10 in Belgium. And while we planned to be there for some photo’s and video’s there was a last minute cancellation of the trip. Too bad, because judging by the video it was some good times for the boarders and sick tricks on the boxes. Enjoy the video below!
